This sounds far too familiar. The only real difference is that I have the pleasure (curse?) or working on Windows. I will assert that Visual Studio .NET 2005 is actually a very good editor though, particularly for C#. I actually had a similar conversion with my IT guy at a client, but since I was running Windows we had it cleared up in about 15 minutes.

Seriously though, it's really scary how similar our days are.

Getting married to said girlfirend and relocating her to Dallas ( sorry Elaine, but it will be better there) will render all coding/IT/bug problems null and void. The computer people forgot to tell you that.

I liked the post. Made me laugh on a dreary cold day in August.

You mean you haven't added a server script that detects the IP address of your girlfriend's machine and returns a special version of said article (i.e., replace all sleeping activities with "Dreaming of girlfriend", replace all waking activities with "Thinking of girlfriend", replace all eating activities with "Eating while thinking of girlfriend", etc.)? What kind of lame engineer are you anyway? :-)

Hahaha... you don't mention the hours of conversation on the phone with your girlfriend. Well, unless that happens at the same time as reading Digg and Slashdot. :)
